About this position
A busy family with three young children — B5, B16 months and a newborn baby girl — is looking for a warm and proactive Mother’s Help to become a consistent part of their family routine.
Mum will generally be home with the newborn and works only a few hours each week, so this is primarily a support role rather than a traditional sole-charge nanny position. There will be some sole-charge care of one or two children, but the nanny would not generally be responsible for all three children independently.
The family is looking for approximately 20–25 hours per week, ideally across 2–3 mornings and 2–3 afternoons/evenings, with flexibility around how the hours are structured.
Morning support may include:
• Preparing breakfast and lunchboxes
• Helping get the older children ready for kindy/daycare
• Assisting with drop-offs if required
• Family laundry, folding and putting clothes away
• Tidying and resetting the kitchen and shared areas
• Grocery shopping or occasional errands
• Helping get the household organised for the day
Afternoon/evening support may include:
• Helping with the after-kindy/daycare routine
• Playing with and caring for the children
• Preparing snacks and family dinner
• Kitchen and dining clean-up
• Bath and bedtime routines
• General tidying and resetting of the home
Dad travels regularly for work, sometimes for 2–3 weeks at a time, and also works across international time zones, so flexibility during these periods would be a great bonus.
This is a hands-on role combining childcare with practical household support. The ideal person will be comfortable working alongside Mum, confident with babies and young children, and genuinely happy to help with tasks such as cooking, laundry, tidying and keeping the household running smoothly.
The family would love someone warm, calm, reliable and naturally proactive, someone who can see what needs doing and happily pitch in.
The ideal nanny will have:
• Previous nannying or childcare experience, ideally with babies and toddlers
• Confidence working alongside a parent as well as independently
• A practical and organised approach to household tasks
• A full, clean driver’s licence
• Current First Aid, or willingness to obtain it
• Excellent references
• Flexibility when Dad is travelling would be a bonus
Hours: Approximately 20–25 hours per week
Days/times: Flexible – ideally 2–3 mornings and 2–3 afternoons/evenings
Start date: Flexible
